Greeeeat. Looks like I'm coming down with something. Body aches, head hurts, no energy, think I have a swollen gland in my throat or something...hu-fucking-zah.

I can't really tell myself it's just blowing off the roofs, since the roofs are mostly clear now.
Not heavy, but the flakes are bigger now. |

OK, so, all my family knew that I was looking into a netbook for communications and portability, thus giving me money for Xmas. My desktop is still my main machine and will remain that way, but since I'm going to be changing from cellphone to VoIP, I wanted something that would give me some mobility. I don't need a full-on laptop, not for what I'd use it for, but the more I looked at them, the more a netbook started looking like a good solution.
I've spent more than a little time, lately, comparing various ones. I think I've locked down my decision; the Asus Eee PC 1005HA fits everything I want, and seems to top a lot of comparison lists for value and performance. Still, I'm curious: any of you out there who own and use one, which do you have and what do you like and dislike about it?Current Music: Maylene and the Sons of Disaster - Memories of the Grove

I uncovered my car yesterday around noon.
It now has about 2 or so more inches on it.
And the snow is STILL coming down.
*sigh* |

EDIT: braved the white stuff. 10-11 inches by my ruler on a nice flat area. |

Blizzard Warning issued
The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for much of NE Kansas, including Douglas County, in effect until 6 p.m. Friday. Travel is strongly discouraged.
:|
No family gathering for me. *sigh* And I even got the presents all made (and that was a LOT of presents, you know.)
Edit: not that it's actually snowing. What's falling out there right now (and for the last several hours) are little balls of ice. Isn't Kansas weather FUN? |

Southern comfortable gentleman waits in elder shadows for bears & bunnys. Passion's promise, he dreams blood sunrise. A sinner among the saints, his ecclesiastic ecstasies murmur dark humors, spiced amber musk, memoirs from sanity's darkest edge. His touch is warm honey, slow lurid grins, tease for tomorrow. I think this is some of the most beautiful description I've ever been given.Current Music: LaTour - Don't Jump

OK, one shower and a pain-free pee later, I'm in a much better frame of mind. Now I can start to laugh at things:
- I think they save the less-attractive nurses for these kinds of procedures. The last two times I was in Doc's office, the nurses were attractive...hell, the last one was downright HOT (nothing like being pants-less in a small room with the door closed while a really sexy nurse bends over in front of you...yay for self-control). Today, though, when I have someone handling the equipment, it's a homely little woman. Probably smart, I guess, just an observation.
- Congratulations, visitors to my house can now play with something that has been through my cock. Aren't they just lucky!
- This was the first time I've been full-frontal in a room with other people all focused on my package, and it was completely non-erotic.
- If I wasn't sure exactly where my prostate was before, you better believe I can pinpoint the little bastard now. This should come in handy as I age, I'm betting.
- Honestly? Now that this is over, all I want to do is drink and fuck. A lot. Just call me Titus Pullo!Current Music: Cheryl Lynn - Got To Be Real

24 hours. Just 24 hours until they take this stent out of me and all this bullshit is over. Spent most of yesterday sore, and still a little residual soreness today; I think my body agrees that this thing needs to be gone.
Brittany Murphy, dead at 32 I know, no cause of death has been released, but there were a lot of rumours of drug use over the years, and really, heart attack at 32? There's a tiny chance you had some terrible heart condition but, most likely, you were doing something really bad for you. Too bad, too, I always thought she was attractive, and the few roles I saw her in, I enjoyed.
Ate like a king last night, once again due to daemonwise's amazing culinary skizznils. Candied beef, apple/onion/garlic mix, baked potato-style mashed potatoes, and spiced wine. Good GOD, it was only sheer willpower that made me stop eating.Current Music: Leonard Cohen - Memories

Good morning, fans of Les Misérables. Just for you, I give you the first time that the story has been adapted into a game. Not the first time the characters have been in a game, mind you, but the story.
Sort of.

Ugh, little bit of dull pain today. Christ, this thing cannot come out of me soon enough. The recovery has been as bad as the problem (which is to say that the problem was never very bad, thankfully, but still...).
